Novadata Unveils Driver as Ambassador for Driver CPC Week
Novadata are delighted to announce that we will be holding a week-long programme of courses and events (14 – 18 September) to mark the introduction of Driver CPC for the Road Haulage Industry.
As part of the week’s events, we also plan to unveil details of our coming Driver CPC course 'Driver as Ambassador'. This course, will aim to turn a spotlight on the skills, capabilities and expertise of the ‘professional driver’ in the UK, underline the significance of a driver's role within an organisation and develop a greater understanding of the implications and benefits of periodic training.
Course content will include:
• image of the industry • communication skills • creating the right impression • listening skills • body language • handling conflict • dealing with complaints • attitudes to driving • road rage • workplace requirements • attitudes to drivers • doing that little bit extra • famous case studies • stress management
We pride ourselves on remaining at the forefront in helping our clients deal with the ongoing challenges of transport legislation, working hard to ensure they remain up to date and compliant. Not least of these current challenges is the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). Having come into force across all European Union member states on 10 September 2008 for bus and coach drivers, it will extend its reach to the entire road haulage industry – affecting over ¾ million drivers in the UK - on September 10 this year.
Having delivered the UK’s first seven hour approved course towards attaining the Driver CPC for the bus and coach sector in September 2008, we have continued to provide a full Driver CPC programme including Driver CPC Train the Trainer. We now look forward to passing on the experience and knowledge we have gained during the past year to the road haulage industry. We mean to make Novadata’s Driver CPC Week a ground-breaking and very useful occasion. At Novadata, we believe learning should be fun and aim to entertain as much as engage. With this in mind, each delegate attending a course during Driver CPC week will receive a Novadata 'Goodie Bag' full of driver friendly surprises!
Novadata's Driver CPC Week will include the following courses: • Driver CPC Digital Tacho & Drivers Hours • ADR • Driver CPC Preventing Physical Risk. • Driver CPC 50 Things You Should Know to Stay Legal • First Aid Actions in an Emergency/Driver Responsibilities (PCV) • Bus, Coach & Minibus Fire Evacuation Training (PCV) • School Run & Customer Care (PCV) What they said in September 2008… “I thought I knew a lot about digitachs…Over the next few hours I learned a lot more as Derek took us through all the stages of using the digital tachograph, setting it up, interpreting the various codes and messages, downloading information from the unit and understanding the printouts. “All too soon we found that we had reached the end of our seven hours training session and it didn’t feel that long. I have to say that I found it very interesting and I learned such a lot from it.” Rob Orchard, Bus and Coach Buyer Magazine
“This felt like quite a momentous occasion to take part in the first session of periodic training in Europe. The course content was excellent and I continue to be really impressed with Novadata. At Two Rivers we are committed to safety and doing things properly. We are passionate about everything we do and I recognise that passion in Novadata.” Richard Zarywacz, Two Rivers Travel, Reading
What they are saying now… “Brilliant! The actual subject knowledge that has been imparted to us has been first class. All supporting documentation has been clear, thoughtful and very professional.” Alan Jones, Driver
“Our drivers have gained so much from this course and I have seen a definite increase in subject knowledge confidence.” Patrick Keeble, MD, Florida Taxis & Coaches, Essex
Aimed at improving road safety and fuel economy, we believe the Driver CPC should also bring an improved professional and positive image to the industry.
