Novadata Approved Training in Radioactives 7 and Explosives 1
Hazardous times…
Novadata the leading transport training specialist company based in East Anglia has been approved by the Department of Transport, Dangerous Goods, to supply training in both Radioactives 7 and Explosives 1. Novadata, as well as running these 1-day courses at their offices in Braintree, Essex, offer a mobile service nationally for companies who require training for six or more personnel to a maximum of 16. The Company also offer half-day refresher courses.
Derek Broomfield, Director of Novadata, said: “Over the last two years the Industry has been driven by legislation updates. With the new digital tachograph equipment becoming law, the continuous influx of changes relating to the Drivers Hours regulations and extensive employment law changes, I cannot imagine that there are many companies who have been able to escape the need for training. It has been a huge legislative burden at a considerable cost to the Industry and therefore the consumer. And the changes are still coming in! It was this January that we saw the introduction of the carriage of Hazardous Goods rules extended to any vehicle, not just vehicles over 3.5 tonnes. This has had major implications for a whole range of companies and activities, which have previously been out of scope. It is essential that companies get the training they need now to avoid complications.”
If your company needs training to comply with Hazardous Goods legislation, Novadata has specifically designed a course to enable companies and their drivers to comply. The ADR course covering Core, Packages and Class 6.2 is the minimum that a driver would need to operate legally to carry clinical waste. If you only ever carry quantities of UN3291 Clinical Waste (unspecified) less than 333 kg then you would be ADR exempt. However, the driver would still require certificated training in the handling and security of hazardous materials as specified in the same legislation.
These courses run for two days and are held at Novadata’s premises in Braintree, Essex.
Novadata are one of the largest transport training organizations in the UK and the company has steered transport operators through the complex maze of changes relating to the new digital tachograph. It was the first training company in the UK to receive City & Guilds approval to teach transport personnel the new and very challenging smart-card technology associated with the digital tachograph. The company offers a whole suite of training packages and services including expert witness and legal services.
