NVQ (Level 2)
(CDG) CARRY AND DELIVER GOODS
Carry & Deliver Goods Level 2 is aimed at those individuals working within a transport environment. There are a number of performance criteria for which the candidate has to be able to prove competence. Although the NVQ will cover all types of vehicle from a motorbike to an articulated lorry it is predominantly used for the 3.5-7.5ton van driver. (however not limited to 3.5-7.5ton)
Mandatory Units
CDG1 Contribute to effective working relationships CDG2 Maintaining the safety and the security of the load, self, and property CDG3 Contribute to the provision of customer services CGD4 Complete pre-journey and post- journey procedures CGD5 Planning the route and timings for the delivery and collection of loads CGD6 Transport goods and materials
Optional Units (Choose one from two dependent on job role)
CDG7 Handling goods and materials CDG8 Handling goods (Motorcycle and pedal cycle)
A total of 7 units must be completed for the full certificate and the contact time with the candidate is approx 1.5 days. The assessment is carried out in the candidate’s workplace (vehicle) as not to disrupt the productivity of the individual and provide the assessor with real work evidence.
The DGV NVQ can be attached to numerous training courses, should a training need be established. These can be funded either fully or partly by government funding depending on the course you opt for. ADR, Driver CPC, Manual handling, Transport Managers CPC, First Aid, Drivers Hours Regs and Digital Tacho training to name but a few.
This qualification installs a sense of pride into the workforce, showing your intention as the employer, of your investment and development of your employees. It also confirms to external agencies your clear commitment to train your employees to the highest standards possible. Making for a safer and more competent team within your company.
