Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) Courses
EC Directive 96/35 requires companies involved in the transport, distribution and loading of dangerous goods consigned by road, rail or inland waterway to appoint a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA). DGSAs are responsible for helping to prevent the adverse consequences of the risks inherent in such activities in relation to people, property and the environment.
The directive requires that DGSAs shall be qualified by having taken and passed an approved examination and that they shall have been issued with a Vocational Training Certificate (VTC) before taking up their duties. There are no 'grandfather rights'. Every DGSA must pass the approved examinations.

The exams in 2010 are in March, June, September and December.
The closing date for the September exam is the 2nd September and the exam date is the 23rd September.
The closing date for the December exam is the 18th November and the exam date is the 9th December.
