Digital Tachographs are now being fitted to new vehicles. These new tachographs require smart-cards, which drivers and companies should be applying for now.
It is important that all staff are aware of the new technology. It's not just drivers who will have to use them, but fleet managers, fitters and anyone working in the transport office will need to know how the new Tachograph works, how to store the information, and how to record information if a smart-card is lost, or a tachograph breaks down.
All drivers and companies must familiarise themselves with the new equipment, even if no new vehicles are due to be purchased, as it will become increasingly common for leased or rented vehicles to have the new tachograph and therefore require the smart cards.
Novadata is able to provide analysis from analogue and digital tachographs, and combine the information from both systems.
