A portable case holding up to four separate radio-style tachographs (digital or analogue) together with a speedometer and suitable for training purposes.

The case is provided with a 24V mains power supply suitable for powering up to four tachographs simultaneously. The electronics within the case control the supply to each of the tachographs, and also the ignition and illumination supplies. Each tachograph is provided with a separate speed source, so the speed to each can be set and controlled separately. Control of the supplies and signals to each tachograph is carried out using the supplied external controller. This is connected to the front panel of the demonstration case with a single light-weight cable (length 1 metre).The enforcement training version of the demonstration case allows the supply to each of the speed senders to be controlled, and also the two signals between speed sender and the associated tachograph.When not in use the power supply and external control unit fit into cut-outs in the detachable case lid. Are you exempt from Tachograph Regulations? If so, with some exceptions, you will need to record your hours in a RBD logbook. Each book lasts 15 weeks and is designed to meet Ministry standards.
Record keeping of the hours worked by a driver is another area where the domestic regulations are somewhate more lenient than their EU counterpart.
The record requirements of duty and driving time worked by drivers are hardly foolproof. Although drivers can elect to use a tachograph, if fitted to the vehicle, to record their hours of work, most goods vehicles drivers opt for the completion of a written record book whereas there is no requirement at all for passenger vehicle drivers to do likewise unless they drive both passenger and goods vehicles.
These books contain minimal information for control purposes. The weekly sheet has space to record the:
driver's name
period covered by the records (a week)
vehicle registration number
place where the vehicle is based
time of going on and off duty each day
time spent driving
total time on duty
certification that the employer has checked the record
The accuracy of the records relies on the diligence and truthfulness of the driver.

The TIS-Compact Enforcement Pack provides the basic equipment for downloading, archiving and visualising mass memory and driver card data. Using the convenient Siemens VDO TIS-Compact Downloadkey, data can be downloaded quickly and reliably from all types of digital tachographs and can then be stored on a PC or laptop. The TIS-Compact downloadkey can be configured to download mode activities, events and faults, speed data for the previous 24 hours of driving and also Siemens VDO specific data i.e. 4 Hz speed data relating to 1 minute before and after an incident.
With the help of the accompanying software the data can be visualised and archived on a computer. This allows an overview of driving, other work, availability and rest times, events and faults, technical data, and for example speed values for the previous 24 hours of driving time.

The digiDL remote download device enables driver card and vehicle unit (VU) data to be downloaded direct from your vehicles and into smartanalysis, saving time and helping to ensure compliance with digital tachograph legislation.
Seamlessly download Tachograph data from your vehicles over WI-FI or GPRS
It is a legal requirement to download data from both the vehicle’s Digital Tachograph Unit and the driver’s card. This is a time consuming process and can represent a logistical nightmare when drivers and vehicles are spread across the country.
Automating the whole process
With digiDL installed in your vehicle(s) you can setup a schedule for download of both the Driver Card and the Vehicle Unit. All of this is handled in the background and files will be passed straight to smartanalysis.
The smartanalysis remote download solution allows you to hold the Company Card(s) in your office. The card is placed permanently in a card reader on any PC which has a connection to the Internet or local network (if it is a totally custom solution).

Record Book for Drivers - RBD - £2.44
Are you exempt from Tachograph Regulations? If so, with some exceptions, you will need to record your hours in a RBD logbook. Each book lasts 15 weeks and is designed to meet Ministry standards.
Record keeping of the hours worked by a driver is another area where the domestic regulations are somewhate more lenient than their EU counterpart.
The record requirements of duty and driving time worked by drivers are hardly foolproof. Although drivers can elect to use a tachograph, if fitted to the vehicle, to record their hours of work, most goods vehicles drivers opt for the completion of a written record book whereas there is no requirement at all for passenger vehicle drivers to do likewise unless they drive both passenger and goods vehicles.
These books contain minimal information for control purposes. The weekly sheet has space to record the:
driver's name
period covered by the records (a week)
vehicle registration number
place where the vehicle is based
time of going on and off duty each day
time spent driving
total time on duty
certification that the employer has checked the record
The accuracy of the records relies on the diligence and truthfulness of the driver.

Digital Tachograph Demo Case - Replacement Battery - 13810201 - £49.50
It is important that the lithium battery in the Digital Tachograph (DTCO 1381) Demo Case is replaced after 2 years and thereafter replaced on a regular basis (ie. maintaining a two-year replacement cycle).
Vehicle Units where the buffer battery is irrevocably discharged will lose their program and cannot be re-activated.
Novadata is offering a DTCO 1381 battery replacement service for those customers who have previously purchased a Digital Tachograph Demo Case.

The digital tachograph is a security relevant system, which can only be used in connection with functional chip cards (driver, company, control and workshop card).
It is important to make sure that the tachograph cards are handled carefully and correctly.
Experience has shown that dirty chip cards are often the reason for soiled contacts in digital tachographs.
Cleaning cloths will help eliminate this problem and are available in packs of 12 cloths.
Roll 50mm Conspicuity Tape - MI070 - £58.09
VOSA examiners will check that rear marker plates are fitted to vehicles which normally require them to be fitted (vehicles over 7,500kg and trailers over 3,500kg). if no rear marker plates are fitted, but the trailer is instead fitted with compliant rear conspicuity marking, then this will be acceptable and the vehicle/trailer will not fail the check.
Rear conspicuity markings
If conspicuity markings are fitted in place of the rear marker boards, VOSA examiners will carry out checks to confirm the following compliance requirements:
1. The lowest edge of the markings is between 250mm to 1500mm from the ground. If 1500mm is not practicable this can be increased to 2100mm.2. The maximum height is as high as practicable but no lower than 400mm from the upper extremity of the vehicle/trailer.3. The conspicuity markings must not comes within 200mm of a stop lamp.4. The vertical aspects of the conspicuity markings should be as close to the edge of the vehicle/trailer as practicable.5. The rear conspicuity markings shall be coloured red or yellow.6. The width of the conspicuity marking should be no less than 50mm and no more than 60mm.
VOSA does not intend inspecting the side conspicuity markings until they becomes compulsory under the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations from 10 July 2011.
