ADR Training
Priced according to course
Novadata is a leading provider of ADR courses in Essex, and we are one of the few ADR training providers to offer both ADR Class 1 Explosives courses and ADR Class 7 Radioactives courses. Most drivers who transport any type of dangerous goods are required to hold the appropriate qualifications. Our courses enable drivers to achieve these well-respected qualifications. Other personnel who handle or administer any goods that are classified as dangerous must also undergo further awareness training (please contact us for further advice). All exams are taken online at our SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) approved examination centre, with results available immediately, so your ADR licence can be issued promptly. Exam fees are included in your course fees. Click on the individual ADR courses below to find out more.

ADR training courses
ADR refers to the European Agreement which also enacts the UK's Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road Act. All drivers who transport dangerous goods must hold a Vocational Training Certificate issued by SQA. This is required by UK regulations implementing the relevant EU directive. Novadata's ADR training courses in Essex are approved by the Department for Transport and provide drivers with the knowledge they need to be aware of the hazards inherent in carrying dangerous goods and how to protect themselves and those around them.
ADR course content
Our ADR training courses cover all of the classifications of dangerous goods as governed by ADR regulations. Our 3.5 day Core & Packages course and our 5 day Core, Packages & Tanks courses each cover these main ADR classes:
- ADR Class 2 – Flammable and non-flammable gases
- ADR Class 3 – Flammable liquids
- ADR Class 4 – Flammable substances
- ADR Class 5 – Oxidising agents/organic peroxides
- ADR Class 6 – Toxic and infectious substances
- ADR Class 8 – Corrosives
- ADR Class 9 – Miscellaneous substances
We also provide specialist one day courses covering the two remaining classifications:
- ADR Class 1 – Explosives
- ADR Class 7 – Radioactives
If you already have an ADR Core & Packages qualification, we provide a 1.5 day Tanks Add-On course, so that you do not need to resit an entire 5 day course in order to obtain the additional ADR Tanks qualification.
Driver CPC
Our ADR courses are accredited by both SQA and JAUPT/DVSA, so our ADR training can also count towards periodic Driver CPC training.

Training at your own premises
If you have a group of drivers who require ADR training, we are happy to arrange for one of our expert trainers to deliver the ADR training course at your own premises. We are also able to provide Dangerous Goods Awareness for a group of members of your team who do not drive, but who administer or handle dangerous goods and may, therefore, need awareness training.
Please contact us on 01376 552999 or email info@novadata.co.uk if you require training at your own site.
ADR Training - Frequently Asked Questions
Who needs an ADR qualification?
If you regularly drive a vehicle transporting dangerous goods, or you handle or load goods classified as dangerous under ADR regulations, you will need to have an ADR qualification.
People who provide administration and office support for dangerous goods should attend Dangerous Goods Awareness training, which we can provide; although they will not need an ADR qualification unless they also transport dangerous goods.
How often do I need to renew my ADR qualification?
An ADR qualification must be renewed every five years in order to continue transporting or handling goods classified as dangerous.
Dangerous Goods Awareness training for admin/office staff should be undertaken regularly – ideally every two years.
Can I also take my ADR examinations with Novadata?
Novadata is an approved examination centre for ADR qualifications. Examinations are taken in digital format, online, at our premises, at the end of every ADR course.
