Tachograph Analysis

No matter what make or model of tachograph your vehicle has fitted, regardless of whether it is a digital tachograph or an analogue tachograph, you are required to comply with UK legislation governing the use of tachographs and you must undertake regular tachograph analysis.

Our digital tachograph analysis and analogue tachograph analysis services are designed to help you with this. We offer online digital tachograph analysis; standalone digital tachograph analysis software; analogue tachograph analysis; and even a combination of digital and analogue tachograph analysis; all developed to provide you with a variety of reports and alert you to infringements, so you can address any issues.

The following pages will help you to determine which of our services is most appropriate for your needs.

Tachograph Analysis - Frequently Asked Questions

  • What options do you provide for digital tachograph analysis?

We offer a choice of CT-TachoTEK, a standalone tachograph analysis software, or our online web-based digital tachograph analysis service.

  • Do you offer remote downloading options?

We offer a remote downloading service so you can download tachograph data even when the vehicle is far from its base. In order to use this, you will also need to install a remote download unit in the vehicle itself.

  • What are ‘Pending Files’, and what should I do with them?

When you download data from a new driver, or an agency driver, you will often download a number of files not relevant to your organisation. If the driver is not recognised by your system, files downloaded will be held in a separate folder as ‘Pending files’. These need to be cleared before you can submit new data for analysis. You need to extract from the folder any files that are relevant to you, and delete from your system those that are not. This happens so that you don’t submit any data that isn’t yours for analysis, and ensures that you don’t pay more than you need to for your analysis.

  • Will Gen 2 smart tachographs be compulsory on all vehicles from 2025?

Gen2 smart tachographs will be fitted to all appropriate new vehicles. However, you will only need to retrofit a Gen2 smart tachograph to an older vehicle if the vehicle is used abroad. For vehicles used entirely in the UK, you will not need to do this.
