Novadata's new pocket guide helps eliminate infringements in digital tachograph manual entries
Leading transport training expert Novadata has launched a new Pocket Guide to Manual Entries on Digital Tachographs, to help eliminate infringements arising from one of the most common driver errors when using digital tachographs.
This handy trifold pocket-sized leaflet provides a simple step by step procedure on the correct way to create a manual entry, on both VDO and Stoneridge Tachograph units.
When using a digital tachograph, some of the most common mistakes occur when drivers make manual entries. This type of error can have serious consequences; it could indicate that an infringement has occurred and the Operator’s records will not be as robust or accurate as they believe them to be. By unwittingly making an incorrect manual entry, the driver has potentially created a false record, or committed an infringement which could result in a fine for both driver and employer. Any infringement, whether created knowingly or accidentally, could adversely affect the Operator Compliance Risk Score (OCRS) and puts the organisation’s O Licence at risk.
Novadata MD, Su Winch, said, “Manual entries made on digital tachographs should be right first time. Our handy new guide is neat enough to fit in your pocket, but is full of the essential information that you need to make an accurate manual entry every time, avoiding unnecessary infringements.”
Novadata also runs regular Driver CPC Driver CPC - Drivers Hours Law and Tachographs courses for drivers as part of their required 35 hours of periodic Driver CPC training. Says Su Winch, “This is always a very popular course as it is absolutely crucial that drivers can download their tachograph data on time, observe Drivers Hours regulations, and confidently make correct manual entries which give a clear, accurate record of each driver’s working day. Training is essential, but our new pocket guide provides vital additional back up and instant revision of the correct procedure day to day.”
