Driver CPC training at your own premises

Prices on application

Professional drivers in the UK are required to hold a valid current Driver Qualification Card (DQC). To keep this current, drivers must attend 35 hours of Driver CPC training every five years. We are able to bring this training to you, either as a single one-day course, or as a series of courses over two or more days. Our on-site Driver CPC courses are suitable for both road haulage and passenger transport drivers.

Driver CPC courses

The DVSA insists that there should be no unnecessary repetition of courses, so it is essential that you choose a good selection of courses across the five years. One exception is for the Driver CPC course, First Aid Actions in an Emergency, which can be used to obtain a first aid certificate which lasts for three years.

We provide a variety of courses which can be delivered at your own premises. We provide all the equipment which is needed for each individual course (e.g. first aid equipment) and we will also upload each driver’s hours to the DVSA website so that their training hours are logged and counted towards their renewal total.

NB: If you have drivers who require ADR training or Transport Manager CPC training, these courses can also count towards Driver CPC training. Training for these can also be delivered at your own premises.

Costs

Please contact us to discuss costs, which are based on your location, a trainer daily rate, any materials required (e.g. first aid equipment) and upload fees for adding individual drivers’ training hours to the DVSA Driver CPC system. Please contact us on 01376 552999 or email enquiries@novadata.co.uk for further information.

Choose your own location

You may have an appropriate room on your premises or may wish to hire one close by. We will be happy to advise you as to suitable premises for your course.

Our trainers, who are all transport industry professionals, will travel to your chosen location to deliver the course to your drivers.

If you do not have the minimum number of candidates, you may wish to get together with colleagues from another organisation to form a larger group of candidates. Most courses are suitable for both LGV and PCV drivers.

No change to the Driver CPC system

The Driver CPC system in the UK has not changed since the UK left the EU. All road haulage drivers who drive a heavy goods vehicle/large goods vehicle/lorry weighing 3.5 tonnes or more are required to attend 35 hours of periodic Driver CPC training every five years, in order to keep their DQC (sometimes known as a Driver CPC card) up to date. Drivers of passenger transport vehicles of more than 9 seats are also required to attend 35 hours of periodic Driver CPC training every five years. It is against the law to drive such vehicles for hire or reward without a valid DQC.
