As an operator, vehicle maintenance is not optional. Regular vehicle maintenance is essential to ensure that vehicles are safe, reliable, and legal. Knowing this is your responsibility and staying on top of it all can be challenging without a proper understanding of everything that’s required.

We’ve created the Maintenance Matters one-day course to guide transport managers or anyone with responsibility for their organisation’s transport through all the key aspects of ensuring your vehicles are properly maintained, are checked properly, and what the DVSA audit expectations comprise.

  • Helps operators and managers have a better understanding of all the important elements to meet the standards expected
  • Provides a clear appreciation of specific important matters such as brake testing, review safety inspections reports, drivers daily checks and defect reporting
  • Examines maintenance management arrangement options for operators and looks at the importance of ensuring external maintenance providers meet the correct standards.
  • Explains what DVSA looks at when carrying out an audit and what subsequently a Traffic Commissioner will be looking for should the matter escalate to a Public Inquiry
  • Maintenance related obligations and duties
  • Vehicle checks, including daily checks by drivers; safety inspections (PMIs); annual tests
